WOMAD continues its tradition of attracting some of the world's most prolific artists and performers from arounf the globe.
Internationally acclaimed and multiple award-winning Israeli countertenor David D’Or tours Australia for the first time in March 2008 to coincide with Israel’s 60th birthday celebrations.

From rock to classical, world music to traditional Jewish song, folk to Klezmer, David D’Or and his band will perform one show only in Melbourne (Hamer Hall) and in Adelaide as part of WOMADelaide (7-9 March).
Having shared the stage with high profile Israeli folk, rock and world music icons such as Arik Einstein and Ehud Banai, Etti Ankri, Arcadi Duchin and Shlomo Bar, D’Or is increasingly becoming an international superstar. Having won multiple Israeli Music Awards in 2002 in various categories, with eight gold and platinum albums to his name, D’Or has secured his position as one of Israel’s most astounding performers.
D’Or’s fame is not limited to an Israeli audience. Worldwide he is recognized as one of the world’s leading countertenors. His ability to traverse musical genres sets him apart from similar artists and secures him invitations from all over the world. From Rome to Bangkok, London to Belgrade, he has performed for the Pope, King Bhumibol Adulyadej of Thailand and the Swedish Royal Palace as well as performing with some of the world’s leading Symphony Orchestras.
