Those nice continental folk who make tasty bread and cheesy adverts are turning their attention to movies, with a Free European Film Festival scheduled for later this month.
Helga’s have booked out Bob Jane Stadium in Albert Park for a 4 night season, featuring cinematic delights from north of the Equator.
The festival kicks off with La Vie en Rose on November 21 and finishes on Saturday November 24 with I Do: How to Get Married and Stay Single. Casino Royale and Chocolat are sandwiched in between.
“The Helga’s European Film Festival has been created to celebrate a continental evening of cinematic experience. This free community event will emphasize the European heritage of Helga’s continental Bakehouse bread”, said Jill Keyte, producer of the festival and Sydney’s Starlight Cinema.
The promotion of Helga’s Bread will be helped along by 500 free picnic hampers per night, available to the first people to register their names on the Helga’s website (www.helgas.com.au)
Entry to each screening is completely free, although you may need to get there early as seats are limited. Doors open at 7pm, movies start at 8.30pm sharp.
The running schedule is as follows:
Wednesday 21 November: La Vie en Rose
Thursday 22 November: Casino Royale
Friday 23 November: Chocolat
Saturday 24 November: I Do: How to Get Married & Stay Single
