What do you do when a bald guy walks into your Barber Shop and asks for a haircut?

Carlo Ledesma has created a short film that explores the thin line between vanity and delusion, whilst taking the age old saying “the customer’s always right” to a new and downright entertaining level.

The opening scene of the film sees an idle looking barber, played convincingly by Dave Kirkham, sitting in a 1950’s Barber Shop, on a summer’s day, listening to big band jazz and waiting for something to happen. Enter the bald man, played by Michael Karolyi. As he sits himself down, the barber’s perplexity turns to joyful abandon, as he pulls out all stops and gives his unique client the haircut to end all haircuts.

This film is skillfully shot (on Super 16mm mind you) and very well acted. The Haircut is a beautiful meeting of two starkly different characters, who connect momentarily and then part ways. No wonder it won the Best Film Award in the Short Film Corner at Cannes this year.
