This dark tale, directed by James Barclay, follows the eerie meanderings of Jason Smith, a seemingly average guy whose life is turned upside down when his wife is brutally murdered by a mysterious, forest dwelling man/superfreak.

Jason enlists the services of “Storm Investigations” to track down his wife’s killer. Once the mystery man is found Jason treks into the forest and prepares himself for a showdown of sorts. Here Barclay ventures into supernatural territory and the plot's thread unravels slightly. 

The film continues to yoyo between past and present, dream and reality, making it increasingly difficult to distinguish fact from fiction. The stilted conversations and knowingly looks (between the police detectives) don’t help matters.   

The film ventures into horror territory very convincingly. Unfortunately I got lost somewhere in the forest along with the man/superfreak.
