Are you clueless about the difference between shimmers and sheers? Or are you a beauty bunny with a bathroom cabinet choc full of goodies? Either way, these tips and products are sure to come in handy and make any girl glow.

1- Scale down your skin
Skin cells can be pesky little things. Once they die, they sit on the surface of your skin, and for your face this is bad news as it results in a dull, unhealthy complexion. To avoid this, exfoliating should be a regular part of your daily beauty routine. A lot of exfoliaters can be quite abrasive and often contain salts and sands that can irritatate your face so to avoid this try a gentle, daily exfoliater like Jurlique's Daily Exfoliating Cream $28 (for 40ml) instead. This oatmeal like cream is simply applied with a pat and release motion, and once rinsed off leaves superbly scented and supple skin. Another simple trick for exfoliating other parts of your body is to  rub a soft towel in a circular motion over your skin when you get out of the shower. This will improve circulation and boost your skin's radiance.

2 - Get primed and ready for action!
For the perfect face, you need the perfect base. That's why primer is a necessary tool in every girl's beauty booty. Primer is basically a thin veil of cream you apply before makeup to even out the surface of your skin, this allows foundation to slide on easily and stay on longer. You can even be a little bit tricky and mix your primer with some bronzer and wear it alone, for a glowing, no makeup look. The queen of primers would have to be Napoleon's Auto-Pilot Pre-Foundation Skin Primer $45, once you have this little gem you'll wonder how you survived without it!

3. Brush off!
The latest craze with make-up artists worldwide is the foundation brush. Applying liquid foundation with a brush allows an even, thick coverage for your face and you don't get all the nasty oils from your fingertips mixed in when building your perfect base. There are some great foundation brushes on the market right now, try The Body Shop, Napoleon or Elizabeth Arden brands for starters.  If it all seems too daunting for you, Australis have made foundation application with a brush even easier. Their new Brush On Foundation is a busy girl's dream. For only $17.95 you get foundation with SPF30 sunscreen, and a built in brush. Simply unlock the cap, squeeze gently and apply.

4. Line and define
If the eyes are the windows to the soul then shouldn't we hang some nice curtains? Making your eyes pop is as easy as black and white – eyeliner that is. Line your bottom inner lid with white pencil and your upper lash-line with black liquid eyeliner for come hither eyes. If you are in the market for a good black liquid eyeliner you can't go past Loreal Lineur Intense Liquid Liner $21.50. Once dried, this brilliant liner won't budge, and the finely tapered brush offers super-strong definition for minimal effort.

5 - Get lush lashes
Ever wondered how celebrities get those big vibrant eyes that make your peepers seem puny? It all comes down to tricks of the trade, and when it comes to the eyes, it's all about fake eyelashes. For a natural effect the best way to go is to apply a few individual lashes to the outer corners of your eyes.
Try Eylure Individual Lashes $16.99 these are semi-permanent individual lashes that can last up to four weeks (but can be easily taken off with the remover provided). They come in short, medium and combination(short, medium and long) packs so it's easy to find the perfect length for your eyes. Just stick a couple on with the adhesive provided and you'll have yourself a breathtaking blink!
Eylure products are available at Priceline
6 - The perfect pout
There are some gorgeous lipsticks on the market at the moment, but without the perfect pout to paint, most of them are useless. This is where a treatment like Gatineau Paris Electelle Lip Care ($56) comes in handy. This double-action product nourishes and moisturises the lips, providing immediate plumping, and giving anti-chapping benefits. It's choc full of vitamins for your kisser to drink and it even contains mother-of-pearl extract for a pretty gloss effect. Wear it alone, or just use regularly to keep your lips looking irresistibly kissable.

7 - Find your french finesse
For fabulous fingernails you don't need to see a manicurist, just try a french manicure at home. All you need is white and sheer pink polish and a steady hand. Simply paint the tips of your nails with the white polish, leave to dry and add a coat of sheer pink. It's easier than you'd think! There are also some great do-it-yourself french kits out there, the most fool-proof would have to be Sally Hansen's 5-minute french manicure set $25.95. It includes a strengthening base coat, pink top coat and a nifty white polish pen which makes a DIY french manicure as easy as colouring in.

8 – Take it all off baby!
As tempting as it is to just fall into bed at night and not take the day's muckiness off your face, the damage you can do to your skin just isn't worth it. Every girl's beauty routine should include cleansing at night. After washing with your normal facewash, another key product to have handy is makeup remover. I've searched long and hard for a cosmetic remover that is worth it's weight in gold and I finally found it in the recently released Loreal Paris De-maq’ expert Elixir Concentrated Gel Make-up Remover $16.95. The transparent oil-in-water mix transforms into a white milk lotion simply by adding water, and you need only the tiniest bit to remove even the most stubborn makeup.

9 – Drink it up
Everyone knows that for healthy skin you need lots of H20, but the outside of your body needs hydrating too. It's important to incorporate a full body moisturiser into your daily beauty regime to avoid looking like a prune later on in life. This needn't be an expensive endevour with divine products like David Jones Cocoa Butter Cream (starting at $4.95) available. This intensive moisturiser is like a chocolate bar and a carribean holiday all rolled into one, with a scent to die for. It's rich and non greasy and even made in Australia - what more could you ask for? Let your skin drink up!

10 – Be Scent-sational
No girl should be without a perfume. It's one of the first things people notice when you walk by, and making an impact has a lot to do with sensory perception. Department stores like Myer are always great places to start when looking for a fragrance, but why not try going natural and visiting The Body Shop? They have a great range of perfume oils which include Vanilla, Neroli Jasmine and Japanese Musk and their sublime scents are affordable, and long lasting. Just pop a few drops on your wrist and the sides of your neck for a foxy frangrance that lasts all day.
