The Cannes Film festival is soon to be 60 years of age but there are no signs of it faltering, instead the Festival is still as demanding, as ambitious and as enthusiastic as ever. For 10 days every May, Cannes becomes the hottest film industry location in the world - its streets, beaches, bars, hotels and cinemas transformed by an invasion of the rich, the beautiful, the cultured, the creative and the desperate-to-make-it. And for those on a fashion lookout, there were lots to oggle your eyes on. Here are some of the night's best.

My favourite dress of the evening is this turqoise number worn by Milla Jovovich. And boy! Check out her post baby body. Only weeks ago, she was pudgy and still carrying a lot of her baby weight. And voila! |

Natalie Portman certainly showed her love of ruffles at this year's Cannes Film Festival. Nearly every dress she wore was covered in them! This is one cute red dress... |
 |
Proving once again that ruffles was the way to go, our very own Cate Blanchett showed off her post-baby curves in this flowy and oh-so-beautiful dress by Giorgio Armani. |

Mischa Barton was a little hit and miss during the 10-day festival but this dress was definitely a HIT!
The regal purple pleated frock was by Alberta Ferretti. The dress exudes elegance and pure royalty.
Damn them rich Hollywood folk with amazing designers clamouring the dress them. She probably got this one for free. |

Desperate Housewife Eva Longoria, always one who revels in being the centre of attention, wore a gown by one of her favourite designers Versace, part of the Versace Haute Couture.
Mr Parker was no where in sight.

Another Hollywood girlfriend who heated up the red carpet was Bar Rafaelli, Leonardo Dicaprio's Israeli girlfriend. She looked gorgeous in the Ferretti/Chopard dress at the opening festivities.
Accompanying her on the red carpet was designer Alberta Ferretti, who codesigned Bar’s dress with Chopard co-president Caroline Gruosi-Scheufele. The $700,000 gown was made from lilac silk chiffon and adorned with 2,904 carats worth of gems.
Sic! GOEGEOUS with a capital G. So jealous!
Man, I would guard her with my life too if I were Alberta Ferretti. |

And the last TheScene worthy mention is none other than Hollywood's most powerful couple, Brangelina. Angelina proves that you don't have to be a dag to be a mum.
Brad Pitt wore Tom Ford and yummy mummy Angelina Jolie wore Max Azria. |
