Having styled lovely ladies such as Blondie and Kelis, Alice McCall's spring/summer collection was aptly entitled Welcome to the Dollhouse "The ideas I had for appliqu, embroidery, and other detailing stemmed from 1970s craft books that I found at a flea market in New York City," says McCall. "Which in turn opened the door to all things crafty and handmade, but I gave the finishes a modern edge with an injection of neon and highlights." To wit: overalls, crochet stitching, and nerdy spectacles mingled with mod shift dresses, zips and zigzagged lines, and metallic hues such as acid green.
