Yves Saint Laurent, the man that changed the face of world fashion, has died in Paris aged 71.
He was considered by many to be the greatest fashion designer of the 20th Century, having brought haute couture to the masses in the 50s and 60s.
At just 21, Saint Laurent was named as the natural successor to Christian Dior, after the celebrated designer died in 1957. From there Saint Laurent went on to revolutionize the industry with his ever-popular trouser suits and artistic bold prints.
Yesterday tributes were flowing in, particularly from women who had felt liberated by his elegant designs, renowned for delivering ready-to-wear confidence for women the world over.
