Alice McCall has had an impressive run through the fashion industry ranks. After spending 10 years making her mark on the London Fashion scene and dressing the likes of Natalie Immbruglia, Kelis, Blondie and Marianne Faithful; McCall was head hunted by Buddist Punk to design the women’s spring/summer collection in 2002. Followed by a stint designing for Sass & Bide.

Finally, in 2007, McCall launched her own label at the Australian Fashion Week. The label has garnered a world wide following over the last few years, perfectly combining elements of tender girlish charm and bohemian flare, topped off with a bit of rock and roll sheik.

Alice McCall has also secured a fairly fancy celebrity fan base; with the likes of Jools Oliver, Natalie Imbruglia, Diane Kruger and Chloe Sevigny all sporting her latest wares.

At the end of London Fashion week in 2006 Vogue UK had this to say about the designer, “If we gave out cups at the end of Fashion Week, Alice McCall would have a hat trick: best newcomer, prettiest collection and easily the most popular girl in the class.”

The Scene will be keeping a close eye on McCall’s latest collection at Melbourne Spring Fashion Week.
