Before making waves in the fashion world Gill Milligan was already building a name for herself as a professional model. Her experience in television and print media led to a career as a stylist for Australia’s fist surfing magazine for girls and put her on track towards a career in the fashion industry.

Thanks to a loan from her grandfather and a little knowledge of design and production, Gill set about creating her first label Mermaid Sister. A self taught designer and business woman, Gill then began to explore design outside of the commercial surf market she started out in. A change was approaching. The gap between boutique design and street wear was beginning to close, leaving room for a label with feminine styling and a distinct creative edge.

Working with local female artists and drawing inspiration from her favourite vintage pieces, she began to put together a collection that was versatile, bold and a little left of centre. Milk and Honey was born in 2003.

Gill’s philosophy for a successful collection is attention to detail. From the first sketch through to the finished product - texture, colour and a strong creative direction is her mantra.

Now in it’s 10th season, Milk and Honey fused style with individuality. The label has a unique appeal that is represented through art and signature fabrics. Now expanding beyond our shores, Milk and Honey is stocked throughout Malaysia, New Zealand and the UK.
