JOJO Remeny is an English born Fashion designer who is every bit an enigma as his appearance. He was born to a Hungarian father and an Irish mother who abandoned him at 11 months of age, leaving the local orphanage to rear their child. Jojo was moved around from one institution to another before leaving care at 18 years of age.
His relief from the chaos came with creativity, graduating from music school with a degree in composition before taking on a brief apprenticeship as a tailor.
This short but intense learning curve has served him well and 2007 finds him with his own collection of mens and womens designs, plus a successful online boutique.
Jojo's approach to designing and making clothes is organic; an ongoing process of improvisation with silhouettes, contours and hand embroidered fabrics. His working class background has left him with a distaste for convention and pompousness and sets him apart as an advocate for real people with real figures (this was echoed in his most recent shoot where the average girl was a size 12).
