Most women would agree that shopping for the perfect bikini is nothing short of a nightmare. Whether you are shaped like a pear, an apple, a carrot or a kiwi fruit - the pain is unanimous. But according to emerging Gold Coast designer Bec Cooper, shopping for a new bikini should be fun.

Her label Mr Julius impressed the fashion industry and its buyers at the recent Sydney Rosemount Australian Fashion Week.

According to her peeps, “Cooper has worked tirelessly to create a high quality product that will appeal to beach goers both nationally and globally.”

Well apparently the work has paid off. Her range caught the eye of buyers from France the UK and the States, as well as hometown buyers like David Jones.

According to Cooper, the reason behind her rising star, is that she offers a fresh and fun themed swimwear selection that appeals to young women universally.

“I’ve designed with four different girls in mind, Playful Girl, Party Girl, Girly girl, and Glam girl.”

Women are identifying themselves with one of these categories and they love making that distinction,” she said.

What about the “I Want A Bikini That Will Cover The Right Spots After Being Dumped By A Wave In The Aussie Surf Girl”? That category seems to have been overlooked.

Now back from her Sydney showing, Cooper has her head down once again to get the latest range in stores in time for summer 2007.

There is a Summer Launch Party in the planning stages, as well as a few other fashion events to look forward to for the remaining of the year.

No doubt the launch party of a swimwear label is a hot ticket. Don’t forget your umbrella.
