Created by Serb students as a political statement, the inaugural Exit Festival was staged at various locations between the University of Novi Sad and the banks of the river Danube and lasted 100 days.

Thankfully it has now been scaled down to a much more manageable four days, presumably to ensure everyone is still alive for next year’s event.

Exit 07 saw 190,000 people join the throng, more than half of whom travelled from overseas. It featured Beastie Boys, CSS, Prodigy, Groove Armada, Basement Jaxx, LTJ Bukem, Pendulum, Wu Tang, Audio Bullys, Deepchild, Trentmoller, Frankie Knuckles, John Digweed and more artists than is practical to list here.

This year the first names to be thrown in the ring are The Sex Pistols and Paul Weller, which demonstrates the diversity of this monster event.

Top Tip: If you’re looking for accommodation over the four day period, Premier offer great deals rfor overseas travelers. They mainly cater for Brits, but don’t hold that against them.
