As you may be aware, tickets for Splendour go on sale this week.

That means between 9am and 9.04am (if we’re lucky) on Thursday May 22, Australia will be in the enviable position of having tickets available for one of the best festivals on the calendar.

To help make the whole process run as smoothly as possible, organizers have released tips on how to purchase online without feeling the need to smash your computer into a thousand pieces.

Listed below are all the facts, but if you need more click here or visit http://www.splendourinthegrass.com/

Good luck!

1. The URL for tickets this Thursday is: http://www.qjump.com.au/event/2756/. The URL is not a short-cut, it's simply the page on which you will find the various Splendour tickets (event, camping and carbon offset). By using this link you have the most direct route to the right page.

2. To save time on Thursday, create a Qjump account at http://www.qjump.com.au/register/ if you haven't done so already, and make sure you have enough room on your credit card by then too!

3. If you visit Qjump prior to tickets going on sale please keep the following info in mind: If the site is extremely busy early on Thursday (say 8am) you will be redirected to a holding page. To keep things orderly, anyone on this holding page will be cleared prior to 9am to prepare for on-sale.

4. Refreshing is a bad idea - we know when you arrived and you will go through to the shop in the order you arrived. If you hit refresh you will get an on-screen warning. Hit refresh a second time - get another warning. On the 3rd time you will be removed from the site and your access to the URL temporarily blocked. This is the only way to keep order, but it doesn't punish you for accidentally hitting 'refresh'.

5. Once you're in the shop, there will be a session time limit. This will be ample time if you are prepared, so please have the names and dates of birth for anyone you are buying tickets for ready. There is a countdown in the top left of the shop page to let you know how long you have left. Have all name and date of birth details written down and ready and you will be fine.

6. Opening the page more than once on the same computer will make the system think you are refreshing more often than allowed. Don't do it, you will be temporarily banned. To avoid this, make sure you only open one web browser on your computer to access the store.

7. Make sure your web browser is up to date and supports cookies. If you don't have cookies enabled, you won't be able to login to the shop and you won't be able to buy. If you're concerned about this, try Qjump.com.au out before Thursday. If you can add something to your cart, you have cookies enabled. Generally, unless you've specifically disabled this, you should be ok.

8. Those of you intending to buy a Green (or Carbon Offset) Ticket will need to select both the Event Ticket and Carbon Offset options. If you are buying a mix of Green Tickets and regular event tickets, you MUST list the names of those buying Green tickets FIRST, ie ahead of the names of those getting regular event tickets. Don't forget that Green ticket buyers go into a draw to win one of four 2008 Splendour hoodies.

9. Ticket buyers can lodge a support request at http://help.qjump.com.au with all their contact details and as much information as possible about their inquiry. For more info on ticketing, you can also see www.qjump.com.au as well as www.splendourinthegrass.com (view the Tickets section and the Ticketing FAQs).
