We hear it so often that a band has promise, that they could just be the next big thing. But there's truth to that saying for alternative/indie bands Avalon Drive and The Sundance Kinds who unite for a three week residency tour, hitting up venues in Melbourne, Sydney and Adelaide.

Brisbane's Avalon Drive took out the first Uncharted Competition at the beginning of this year and scored themselves a contract with Sony BMG. But prior to the signing, the band had already toured with the likes of The Veronicas and Fall Out Boy. They've put in the hard yards and find their place back on the live stage.

Based in Adelaide, The Sundance Kids have also played some impressive support slots including opening for Thirsty Merc and Angelas Dish. They have just finished recording their much anticipated debut album Fall Into Place, which be released early next year.

Both bands create tracks with catchy beats and heartfelt lyrics best delivered with passion under the stage lights.  And just to keep it interesting, prior to the doors opening a coin toss will decide the night's headlining act (excluding Adelaide shows). No harm in some friendly competition to keep them honest.
