The creator of stone-classic Funk anthems such as "Hook & Sling" and "Check Your Bucket" will be performing one night only with The Bamboos in Melbourne this November.

That's right, New Orleans soul and funk master Eddie Bo is hitting our shores for his first ever Australian tour... it's about time.

Eddie Bo (Edwin Bocage to his mum) is one of the most important – and least known – of the great funksters of the 60’s and 70’s. His recording career, stretching from the mid-50’s on, started out in New Orleans R&B with ‘Twinkle Toes’ and ‘Check Mr. Popeye’ and progressed, in the mid-60’s, to some of the grooviest soul and funk made in New Orleans, or anywhere else for that matter. Bo's contribution to soul, funk and hip hop is matched only by James Brown. All true fans of funk will be falling over themselves to see this man in action.

Eddie Bo backed by Melbourne's own masters of heavy funk, The Bamboos, Saturday November 10 at the Corner Hotel, Richmond.
