Pacha’s latest collection of like-minded groves tackles that end of the evening reserved for winding down with a close friend and, if my mum isn’t reading this, maybe a joint or two and a glass of wine.

“But we’ve already got a thousand chill out albums and we’ve had enough of Kruder and Dorfmeister” I hear you wail, probably something to do with the drugs.

But like the cover says, chill out man.

If you are on the Persian Rugs, then things are about to get a lot worse, so at least enjoy the music in the meantime.

Because this chill out album is actually very good indeed.

Split into 3 discs, Global Chilling kicks off its mish-mash of eclectic ideas with tasty tunes from Adele, Radiohead, NUfrequency, The Cinematic Orchestra, Yoav and Jose Gonzales.

A dive into disc 2 reveals a slightly more wigged out selection, thanks to Goldfish, Nouvelle Vague and spunky little Anekka.

While Disc 3 invites the likes of The Black Ghosts, Crazy Penis and Stafford Brothers to dip into any genres not yet covered on discs 1 and 2.

And somewhere, cleverly hidden within those last few sentences, lays my point.

While the grooves do undoubtedly edge toward the trip hop leaning you come to expect from this kind of lounge safari, the journey there is a lot more interesting and won’t make you cry into your drug-stained hands.

Seriously, get some sleep. You look terrible.
