If LIVE 08 is to become LIVE 09, some changes will need to be made.
It had the charisma of a day of fun festivities, but when it came time to live– the people didn’t come. Consequently the atmosphere that was promised was not delivered.
The first lesson to be learnt is more live entertainment during the day. What was offered could have been viewed in a much shorter time span.
It’s well and good to keep telling punters the acts that are to follow later in the night, but if they have little to view in the meantime, who wants to stick around?
Having said that, the evenings entertainment was of a high standard. The Rogue Traders backed up their acclaimed name with an engaging concert that pleased the biggest crowd of the event (even though it was well under expectation).
Natalie Bassingthwaighte withstood the Melbourne chill and the band enjoyed having a laugh with some familiar faces.
Sunday nights entertainment saw Melbourne’s own IRIS grace the main stage for their set of impressive sing alongs. Front man Brett Collins displayed his song writing talents with heartfelt lyrics that matched the occasion.
They are an honest band bound for recognition in the near future.
The night finished the event with a bang – literally. The final showcase from Kisstroyer was definitely a sensation! Fireworks and lightshow added to their live tunes to excite the few that had rocked up just for their performance.
They are brilliant entertainers worth seeing before the real thing hits our shores.
The event was by no means a success – to be brutally honest, it flopped. But these three acts enticed the most amount of the few observers and gave some joy were lust was for more.
