One of the funniest comedians in America died last week.
George Carlin, the 71 year old veteran of The Tonight Show and Saturday Night Live, won 4 Grammy’s in his lifetime and placed second on the Comedy Central cable television network list of the 100 greatest stand-up comedians of all time (ahead of Lenny Bruce but behind Richard Pryor).
His most famous routine, Seven Dirty Words, caused mayhem when it was first performed and was the subject of an extensive government review of its censorship laws.
Other provocative material included quotes such as “My grandfather would say: 'I'm going upstairs to fuck your grandmother.' He was an honest man, and he wasn't going to bullshit a four-year-old.
To prove how funny this dude really was, here’s a clip of his ‘death’ routine for your viewing pleasure.
He’s probably smiling up at us right now.
